We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accounting Clerk to join our finance team at CHAYIL Church, a registered charity. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills and a thorough understanding of accounting principles. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. The Senior Accounting Clerk will work closely with other team members to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.

Position Details:

Part-Time (3 days a week)
Schedule: 22.5 hours (Tuesday – Thursday)
Onsite | Experience with Charity / Not for Profit
Salary: $38,000 – $40,000
Benefits: Dental care and onsite parking
Start Date: December 9th

Responsibilities

Perform account reconciliation for both revenues and payables to ensure accuracy of financial data.
Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice processing and payment approvals.
Utilize accounting software such as Sage for daily transactions and reporting.
Assist in payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate employee payments.
Conduct bank reconciliation to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare budgets and assist in forecasting financial performance.
Maintain organized financial records and documentation for audits.
Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and workflows.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk or similar role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles.
Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Sage, QuickBooks and Xero.
Experience with account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, payroll processing, budgeting, and accounts payable.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Strong analytical skills to identify discrepancies and propose solutions.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
A degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred but not required based on experience.
