CHAYIL CHURCH SCHOLARSHIP

Chayil Church Scholarship

The CHAYIL Church Scholarship helps young people to offset cost for their post-secondary studies. The purpose is to encourage students to continue working towards academic excellence while contributing positively to their community.
The award is given to students in the community, or to those who are members of CHAYIL Church Ministries or have parents who are current members. These students should demonstrate a need for financial support in pursuit of their college and career studies. Recognition is based on their academic accomplishments, active involvement in both the church and the community, and their future career aspirations.

Amount of Award: $1,000

Each applicant must submit the following:

  • A completed application form
  • Official school transcript including current year’s final marks
  • Two letters of reference, one from your school and one from someone (preferably your
    supervisor) at a community organization (or church) for which you volunteered
  • University or College admission letter
  • Answer to the following in an attached document by email

IMPACT & INFLUENCE

Describe how your present or future career choice will impact and have influence on the world. (250-300 words)

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION:

All applications must be received no later than November 23, 2023. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

CRITERIA:

  • Academic performance as indicated on the official school transcript
  • Applicants must be attending post-secondary college or university for the current school year
    September to June
  • Applicants must exhibit good conduct and character  
  • Candidates are required to have contributed a minimum of 20 hours to community service.

Scholarships will be awarded based upon meeting the above requirements, and academic performance, extracurricular and community involvement, reference letters, responses on the application.

SELECTION:

The selection Committee will review all applications and determine eligibility for the award based upon the entire application process.
