From church office support to hospitality in Chayil Cafe, childcare in Chayil Kids, and outreach to Nursing Homes and Prisons, there’s a place for you. Volunteer Application Form

Church Office

A church office volunteer helps with administrative tasks like answering phones, filing, and managing correspondence, ensuring smooth operations. They’re dedicated, organised, and committed to serving the church community.

When: Tuesday to Thursday 9am to 5 pm

Requirements:

  1. Hardworking: Demonstrates a strong work ethic and willingness to dedicate time and effort to tasks assigned in the church office.
  2. Accounting Skills: Proficiency in basic accounting principles and practices to assist with financial tasks as needed.
  3. Secretarial Skills: Ability to perform clerical and administrative duties, such as answering phones, filing documents, and managing correspondence.
  4. Good Typist & Computer Knowledge: Proficient in typing with accuracy and familiarity with computer software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
  5. Flexibility: Adaptable and willing to take on various tasks as required, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  6. Trustworthy, Polite, Teachable, and Dependable: Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and a positive attitude, while also being receptive to feedback and willing to learn and grow in their role.

Chayil Cafe

A Chayil Cafe volunteer prepares food and drinks, serves customers with a smile, handles cash transactions, maintains cleanliness, and collaborates with the team for a great cafe experience.

When: Sundays 

Requirements:

  1. Food and Beverage Preparation: Ability to prepare and serve food and beverages according to established recipes and quality standards.
  2. Customer Service: Strong interpersonal skills to greet customers, take orders accurately, and provide friendly and efficient service.
  3. Cash Handling: Proficiency in handling cash transactions, including operating cash registers, making change, and balancing cash drawers.
  4. Cleaning and Maintenance: Willingness to maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the cafe, including cleaning tables, washing dishes, and restocking supplies as needed.
  5. Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with other cafe staff members to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.

Chayil Kidz

Children are our future – Let’s invest in them! (Newborn – 12 years)

  2. The ability to share biblical teachings and stories in a way that is engaging and meaningful to children.
  3. Ability to lead children in worship activities that inspire them to connect with God and express their faith through music and prayer.
  4. Willingness to collaborate with fellow volunteers to create a nurturing environment for children.

Chayil Gen & Young Adults

Connectors | Greeters

A church greeter volunteer warmly welcomes worshippers, ensuring a friendly and welcoming atmosphere with kindness and dedication. Previous customer service experience is helpful but not required; what matters most is their genuine desire to help and support others.

When: Sundays

Requirements:

  1. Enjoy conversing with people
  2. Dedicated: Commitment to fulfilling the responsibilities of the greeters ministry with consistency and reliability.
  3. Courteous: Demonstrates politeness and kindness in interactions with others, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all.
  4. Love helping others: Genuine desire to assist and support individuals as they enter the church, offering assistance and guidance as needed.
  5. Customer service background is a plus: Previous experience in customer service roles is advantageous for excelling in this ministry, but not required; a heart for service and hospitality is most important.

Ushers

Church usher volunteers ensure a smooth and welcoming worship experience by setting up, guiding attendees to their seats, assisting with offerings, and maintaining order. They welcome newcomers, assist wheelchair users, and help during altar calls. Ushers also ensure a serene atmosphere by calming disturbances and monitoring for unusual incidents.

When: Sundays

Responsibilities:

  1. Making sure offering envelopes &  collection pails are in place
  2. Placing chairs on the floor
  3. Ushering people to their seats politely
  4. Welcoming newcomers and handing out their Welcome Packages
  5. Receiving offering (in your designated area)
  6. Assisting wheelchair worshippers
  7. Making sure all isles are clear
  8. Clearing the way for camera crews
  9. Moving chairs at the front during altar call
  10. Quieting babies and children—assuring there are no disturbances during the service
  11. Not allowing people to enter Sanctuary during High Praise, quite time or prayer
  12. Hallway patrol
  13. Parking lot duty (specially assigned)
  14. Be alert during the service for any  unusual incidents

Security

The ministry is dedicated to caring for the Senior Pastor, guest speakers, and the congregation, ensuring their needs are met and they feel welcomed and supported.

Translation

Our church’s translation ministry ensures everyone, regardless of language, can fully participate. We provide translation services during services and events, fostering inclusivity and unity.

When: Sundays 

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Commitment to accuracy and clarity in translation
  • Availability during services and events

Available Positions: Translation Ministry is in need of French, Spanish, Portuguese Translators and any available language

Outreach - Nursing Homes

The Nursing Home Ministry embodies God’s love for the elderly, offering them peace, joy, and hope through Christ Jesus. Our monthly visits create an uplifting atmosphere with praise songs, prayer, and sharing the life-changing Word of God, aiming to lead them to salvation.

When: Monthly

Outreach - Prisons

The church prison ministry is dedicated to reaching out to incarcerated individuals, offering them spiritual support, guidance, and hope. Through regular visits, mentoring, and sharing of faith-based resources, we aim to encourage positive transformation and facilitate a deeper connection with God. Our ministry seeks to demonstrate God’s love and forgiveness to those in prison, helping them to find redemption and healing.

When: Weekends | Some days & evenings

Requirements:

  1. Non-judgmental attitude
  2. Good listener
  3. Humble heart
  4. Confidentiality is a MUST
  5. Criminal Background Check is mandatory

Join Our Worship & Arts Ministry (Worship)

At the heart of our Worship Ministry lies a profound mission: to know God intimately, bear witness to Jesus Christ, and illuminate His presence in every aspect of life. We strive for excellence in our worship, seeking to exalt God with every note, every lyric, and every gesture.

When: Thursday & Fridays

Some Requirements:

  1. Integrity: Demonstrates honesty, sincerity, and moral uprightness in all actions and interactions.
  2. Servanthood: Possesses a genuine desire to serve and uplift others, with a humble and selfless attitude.
  3. Commitment: Shows dedication and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities and obligations to the Chayil Church and the Worship team.
  4. Note: To audition for the worship team, you need to be a member of Chayil Church and possess vocal skills.

Seniors Ministry

Join us every week for a heartwarming gathering tailored specifically for seniors. Our Seniors Ministry Fellowship offers a welcoming environment where seniors can come together to share in meaningful fellowship and engage in a variety of enriching activities. From spiritual nourishment to creative expression and physical wellness, there’s something for everyone in our vibrant community of seniors.

  • Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Administration, Firewalls etc.)

  • Social  Media Management ( Content creation – reels & infographics | Instagram Engagement )
